Application of PDCA cycle management for postgraduate medical students during the COVID-19 pandemic

Abstract Background The COVID-19 outbreak has exerted an enormous impact on various industries worldwide. During this pandemic, clinical teaching hospitals have faced unprecedented challenges regarding the management of postgraduate medical students since in medicine both student and resident identity characteristics. purpose study was to explore effectiveness Peking University Third Hospital (PUTH) based PDCA (plan-do-check-act) cycle further develop system during pandemic. Methods methods document review, questionnaire surveys interviews were used continuously improve measures for pandemic by using cycle. Results Investigations conducted system, back-to-school arrangements, laboratory management, prevention control training, online teaching, mentoring, dissertation progress, emotional state We found that strengthening public health knowledge increasing infectious-disease-related innovating methods, improving model maps, formulating improvement programmes are conducive quality such management. Conclusion Given difficulties involved managers need comprehensively consider conduct overall planning use period.
